About Us


ASB Cycling is a multi-faceted company providing Services and Products for Cycling enthusiasts of all levels.


Coaching Services

Alan Bazard is a USA Cycling Level 2 Coach with Power Training Certification.  Alan has been involved in many areas of Cycling for over 18 years.  He is an accomplished road racer and long distance cyclist.  Alan completed 2 rides across the USA with PAC Tour and was part of the crew for the 2nd ride.  In addition to the cross country rides, Alan has organized several long distance tours, including a 450 mile ride on the Natchez Trace, and a 600 mile ride of the Blue Ride Parkway and Skyline Drive.

Alan has coached road cycling professionally since 2005 and became power certified in 2009.  In addition to professional coaching, Alan has donated his time each year since 2001 as a Cycling Coach for "Team In Training" - Texas Gulf Coast Chapter.  Alan rode with the Houston Police Department in their 2005 "Relay" ride from Houston to Lake Tahoe and joined his Team In Training group to complete the Century around Lake Tahoe, all efforts for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  Alan is also the Coach for the Houston Chapter of the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), another charity cycling organization. 


  • Ultra Distance Coaching 


Alan worked as Coach and Crew for Daniel Rudge in his successful solo completion of Race Across America (RAAM) in 2009.  Additionally, Alan Coached and Crewed for Kirk Gentle in his successful Solo RAAM in 2011.  Alan also joins occasional brevets with the Houston Randonneurs.  Alan understands the requirements of training and nutrition for endurance Cycling.


Coaching Education and Bike Skills Training

Alan attended USA Cycling's Coaches Summit in Colorado Springs in 2006 2010, and 2012.  He also attended a 2 day Bike Skills Training session designed to teach Bike Skills to Cyclists of all levels.  Alan has taught Bike Safety Training and Skills for Team Shell (400 members) annually since 2005.

Event Planning and Logistics

Alan is the Ride Director for "Tour Du Rouge" - a 6 day 525 mile ride from Houston to New Orleans benefiting the American Red Cross (See ).   

Alan has extensive experience planning and organizing multi day and single day Century rides for non profit organizations.



Technology Products for Cyclists

In July of 2010, Alan retired from Shell Oil Company after 31 years in Shell's Information Technology Organization.  With his IT and Engineering background, Alan is always on the watch for new technology that can help Cyclists improve their training, keep in touch, and have fun on the bike.  Alan is a licensed reseller in Texas and has recommended products for sale on this website and at bike events.  One key component of Alan's business model is to go to Cycling events (rides, shows, Club meetings, etc.) and show these new Technology Products directly to Cyclists.  Alan attends Interbike and is in touch with Equipment manufacturers and their representatives.  ASB Cycling provides Technology Products not commonly found in local bike shops.  These products offer both quality brands and competitive prices.  Oh yes, Alan personally uses all of these products on rides.
